How exciting… our first winter show has been completed!
What a fantastic show it was – thank you to you all that attended. We saw a great turn out of entries and it was so lovely to see so many of you returning as well as some new faces!
The transparent support and appreciation really warms my heart and I feel so privileged that I can continue providing these opportunities to you all – the community feel is growing.
Throughout the show, there were so many willing helpers and as a result of this, any issue that arose, there were immediate solutions. These were manageable and this supported the smooth running of the show.
Of course, with a new venue, there are going to be things we recognise as we go but how we address them is paramount. One suggestion was the shape of the agility arena and that it felt a little small. So, we worked together and adjusted the corners and made it work. In addition to this, we are going to adapt the method of booking in to prevent long waiting times to run the course. We will have a new booking in sheet with two rows where we are able to now track and tick when attendees have “walked the course” and ready to run the class. Thirdly, we will be providing clear directions when arriving to the venue so we can avoid distracting the horses and other individuals.
Another small change we are going to implement is taking out the option of entering future shows via Bookwhen. This is just to streamline our systems. The google form will now produce an automatic payment service too 😊
Just a small reminder that it is important that we follow the rules set by Bee Happy and the venue. With this in mind, I think it is important that we maintain small briefings before each show, this can support new competitors too.
